Have you heard of the latest and greatest trend? CBD or cannabidiol, has been making headlines all over the globe and especially in the U.S. While CBD is known for its safe and therapeutic component, there are many myths and misconceptions associated with CBD. Let’s dive right into a few of them:
Myth #1: CBD Is Legal In All 50 States
It doesn’t matter if CBD is being sold on Amazon or is available at your local health food store and smoke shops, all of that doesn’t mean it’s legal. There are even CBD shops who STILL say that CBD is legal in all 50 states. It’s still illegal in some states and that’s why the DEA has been issuing warning letters for those who fail to comply and have been selling unapproved new drugs that allegedly contain CBD.
Myth #2: CBD Hemp Oils Are Psychoactive
Say hello to one of the biggest myths alive. Unfortunately, the only solution to this myth is research and ignorance has lead people to actually believe CBD oils are psychoactive. While this myth is not as common as the first, thanks to consumer awareness and professionalization of the market, the people who believed CBD was psychoactive learned that it isn’t. However, there are still a large number of those who believe they will get “high”. CBD hemp oils are produced from fibrous-grade cannabis sativa L plants which contain less than 0.2 percent of THC in the dried mass. This is way below any potential psychoactive effect and when it gets extracted the THC will either be completely out of continue to drop drastically. In conclusion, you can’t get high and you won’t get high on CBD oils.
Myth #3: CBD Oil Cures Diseases & Injuries
When it comes to CBD oils, it’s not legal to say that it cures diseases and injuries. There are still many shops who still say they can cure diseases and injuries but they could get into some legal issues sooner or later. This doesn’t mean that CBD oils doesn’t do a thing, it could help with some side effects you have but legally no one can say it DOES cure when there is not enough evidence to prove this statement. CBD oil does not cure cancer and it’s wrong to even say that. CBD itself is being better researched and clinical trials are popping up more than ever now, so hopefully this changes but for now will remain a myth.
Myth #4: CBD Is Medical Marijuana
CBD is NOT medical marijuana. This misunderstanding continues to roam the interwebs and is 100% false. Most CBD oils are made of hemp which is a completely different plant than marijuana. Even marijuana and medical marijuana are two very different things. This myth got popular when people started to notice that some countries use medical marijuana to create medical-grade CBD oils and started to assume all CBD oils are derived the same way, which they are not.
Myth #5: CBD Is A Sedative
This myth is quite humorous, to think there are people who believe that CBD is a sedative! CBD does have sedative properties but it’s not enough high levels of properties to work as a pure sedative. While we’d love to tell you how you will react to CBD, we couldn’t possibly tell you because everyone’s body is different.
